Original - Intertwined

This artwork is part of 5 pieces of art. One mixed media centrepiece and 4 woodcut prints on 100% cotton rag paper.

I started my process with an exploration of photography, drawing and frottage.  My findings were astounding when I realised that there is an intertwined effect between our surroundings. The evidence of marks we leave, as well as the marks, impact and opportunities that are provided to us. Words that are spoken over us, are embossed, intertwined and layered over our character.

The patterns that inspired me were sculptures, exposed concrete, old newspapers and maps of the Hobart wharf area.
