Scent Of Stillness Bridestowe ~ By Artist Veronica Miles
This artwork was inspired by Bridestowe Lavender Fields in the Northern part of Tasmania. Those purple fields bring a hush—a stillness that calms the noise within. It moves me deeply, I wanted to capture that quiet power.
In this mixed-media painting, I depict a woman in a flowing white dress, walking through lavender fields, gathering stems into her basket. Her journey, like so many of ours, has not been without pain. We carry wounds, don’t we? Scars we don’t always want others to see. But as she moves through the field, something happens—something that often happens when we let nature in.
She begins to notice the beauty around her—the softness of the blooms, the scent in the air, the light. She begins to pick blessings along the way. A smile. A breeze. A reminder that she’s not alone.
I believe nature has a way of gently restoring us. And sometimes, when we least expect it, peace finds us. A peace beyond understanding.
The Scent of Stillness
In fields where violet whispers sway,
She walks in light, the world held at bay.
A basket cradles blooms of grace,
Peace and purpose on her face.
The brim above, a quiet shield,
Her soul unravels in the field.
The gentle strength her stance reveals,
As nature moves and slowly heals.
She walks in faith, calm and assured,
With trust in what is yet secured.
She feels a presence, kind and near,
A silent guide, her path made clear.
This stillness sings, both soft and whole—
Restoring light within her soul.
